We are hiring a Medical Assistant for our St Albans office. If your certification is in phlebotomy rather than medical assisting, apply anyway — venipuncture is the part of this job we care most about, and we will train the rest. You will be the person patients meet before they meet the provider, so the tone you set is the visit they remember.
The office is open Monday to Saturday, 9:00am to 5:00pm. Full time and part time are both open.
What you would be doing
- Room patients, take vital signs and have the chart ready before the provider walks in.
- Draw blood, label and log specimens, and prepare them for courier collection.
- Perform EKGs and point-of-care testing.
- Keep exam rooms stocked, clean and turned over between patients.
- Help at the front desk with phones and appointment confirmations when the day allows.
What we need from you
- Medical assistant certification (CMA, RMA or CCMA) or a phlebotomy certification.
- Confident, gentle venipuncture. This is a daily task, not an occasional one.
- Current BLS certification.
- Dependable timekeeping. On a team this size, one absence is felt by every patient that day.
- All clinical appointments are subject to verification of your certification and eligibility to participate in federal healthcare programmes.
Helpful, not essential
- EKG experience.
- Previous work in primary care or a medical spa.
- A second language spoken by our patients, particularly Spanish or Haitian Creole.
Benefits
Paid holidays, Paid time off and 401(k). Which ones apply depends on the role and the hours worked.
If you need an adjustment to any part of this process, whether that is the form, the interview or anything else, email [email protected] and we will work it out with you.
