Why a video visit, and when it makes sense

The patients who benefit most from telehealth aren’t the ones avoiding the doctor — they’re the ones who keep having to. A monthly GLP-1 check-in is a conversation about how the dose is going, side effects, appetite, weight and what to adjust. That conversation works exactly as well over video as it does across a desk, and it doesn’t cost you two hours and a parking spot.

It also removes the reason people quit. Weight-loss treatment only works if you stay on it, and the most common reason someone falls off isn’t the medication — it’s the logistics. A shift that ends at 5, a car in the shop, a toddler at home, a move out to Long Island. If the visit fits into your day, you keep the plan going.

And it means starting is easy. Your free 15-minute consult can be a video call: you talk to the practice, find out whether semaglutide or tirzepatide fits, get real numbers, and decide — before you’ve driven anywhere or paid anything.

A video visit is a good fit if

Telehealth isn't a lesser version of a visit — it's the right format for some of them. These are the ones patients book most.

You're on semaglutide or tirzepatide and it's time for your monthly check-in
You want a free consult before committing to a weight-loss program
You need a primary-care follow-up or to go over lab results
You work through office hours and can't get to Hollis Avenue by 5
You've moved out of the neighbourhood but want to stay with your doctor
You don't drive, or getting across Queens is a two-bus trip
You're managing at home with a child, a family member, or limited mobility
You'd simply rather not sit in a waiting room

What we can and can't do by video

Weight loss (semaglutide & tirzepatide) — yes

Your consult, your monthly MD check-in, dose adjustments and refills can all be done by video. Bloodwork and anything hands-on is arranged in the office when it's actually needed — your provider tells you at the visit, so nothing is a surprise.

Primary-care follow-ups — yes

Reviewing lab results, checking in on blood pressure or diabetes management, a medication question, or a follow-up after a visit. New problems that need an exam, vitals or a physical still need you in the room.

The free 15-minute consult — yes

Ask everything before you commit to anything. No charge, no obligation, and if a treatment turns out to be wrong for you we'll say so.

MedSpa treatments — in person, always

Botox, laser hair removal, chemical peels, microneedling with PRP, IV hydration and the quick shots are hands-on procedures. They cannot be done by video, and we'd never pretend otherwise — but you're welcome to do a video consult first and book the treatment after.

What your first visit looks like

Step 01

Book it like any other visit

Pick your service and time on the booking page, then choose “Video visit” instead of “In person”. Same times, Monday to Saturday, 9 to 5 ET. Prefer to talk it through? Call (929) 547-9616.

Step 02

Your link comes to you

You get a confirmation right away, and your secure video link by email and text before the appointment. Nothing to install — it opens on a phone, tablet or computer. Find somewhere private and be ready a couple of minutes early.

Step 03

See the doctor, leave with a plan

The same unhurried visit you'd get in the office: your questions answered, prescriptions sent to your pharmacy where appropriate, and a clear plan for what comes next — including an in-office visit if something genuinely needs one.

Insurance & cash pay

We accept many major insurance plans for primary care. Because coverage changes quickly, call (929) 547-9616 with your card and we’ll verify in-network status and copay in about 30 seconds. Uninsured? New-patient cash-pay visits start at $120 and include the exam and a written plan; HSA / FSA accepted. More on our primary care page and visit page.
