Visiting the office

Where we are, when we are open, and whether you need to book.

Where exactly is the office?
205-15 Hollis Avenue, St Albans NY 11412 — on Hollis Avenue near Murdock Avenue and Linden Boulevard, a few minutes from St Albans Park and the LIRR St Albans station. Free street parking is usually available, and the Q4 and Q83 buses stop close by. If you live or work in St Albans, you are almost certainly within a 5 to 10 minute drive or a short bus ride.
Do I need an appointment to be seen?
No. You can walk in Monday through Saturday, 9 AM to 5 PM, and the team will fit you in. Booking ahead simply means less waiting, so if you have a few minutes, call (929) 547-9616 or book online first.
What are your hours?
Monday through Saturday, 9 AM to 5 PM, including Saturdays. The office is closed Sunday. Arriving before 4:30 PM gives the team enough time to see you properly. Walk-in wellness shots run on their own narrower schedule — Monday to Friday, 10 AM to 4:30 PM.
Is this an urgent care?
No — and for most everyday problems that is an advantage. This is a physician-owned primary care office, so you are seen by Dr. Keisha Bryant, MD or a member of her team, your visit goes into your own chart, and follow-up happens with the same practice rather than a different clinician each time.
Are you accepting new patients?
Yes. We are actively welcoming new adult patients from St Albans (11412) and the neighboring zips — Hollis (11423), Cambria Heights (11411), Springfield Gardens (11413), Jamaica (11434), and Queens Village (11428). Book online or call (929) 547-9616 to confirm your insurance and lock in a slot.
Can my child be seen?
Dr. Bryant's practice is adult internal medicine. For young children, the team will point you to an appropriate paediatric option rather than see them here.

Insurance and paying

What to bring, and what happens if you are self-pay.

Do you take my insurance?
Most major plans are accepted. Bring your insurance card and a photo ID. If you are uninsured or between plans, say so at the desk and the team will go through the self-pay options before anything is done.
Is GLP-1 covered by insurance for weight loss?
Coverage in NY is limited. Insurance typically covers semaglutide (Ozempic) or tirzepatide (Mounjaro) for type 2 diabetes with prior authorization. For the weight-loss indication (Wegovy/Zepbound), coverage requires BMI over 30 plus a comorbidity such as sleep apnea or hypertension, and strict prior auth. We can submit prior auth from our primary-care side; cash-pay programs exist for everyone who hits a denial.
Can I pay in instalments?
Yes, on the online checkout. Ask the front desk for a payment link, or pay online when we send one, and Klarna, Affirm, Afterpay and Zip appear next to card, Apple Pay and Google Pay. Picking one splits the cost into instalments. Each provider decides its own approval and terms, and larger treatments qualify far more often than a $25 shot. In the office we take card, cash, Zelle and check.

Medical weight loss

The GLP-1 program: what it costs, what is included, and how it is supervised.

What does the GLP-1 program cost, and what is included?
Semaglutide is $180 a month and Tirzepatide is $190 a month. Both are all-inclusive: the physician-prescribed medication from a licensed U.S. pharmacy, your monthly visit with Dr. Bryant, dose titration, lab monitoring when it is clinically indicated, a nutrition plan, and messaging between visits. There is no membership fee and no consult fee — the first 15-minute consult is free.
Which medication should I start on?
Semaglutide — the same active ingredient as Ozempic and Wegovy — is the single-action GLP-1 and the usual starting point; in the STEP clinical-trial program participants averaged roughly 10 to 15 percent of body weight over 68 weeks. Tirzepatide — the same active ingredient as Mounjaro and Zepbound — adds a second receptor, GIP, and in the SURMOUNT program participants averaged roughly 15 to 21 percent over 72 weeks. Those are clinical-trial averages across study populations, not a guarantee of individual results. Individual results vary. Dr. Bryant makes the recommendation at your free consult after looking at your history.
Do I have to come in every month?
There is a check-in every month, which is what makes physician-supervised GLP-1 different from a mail-order pen. The visit itself is short, and if a month is busy it can be done by phone or video instead.
Is GLP-1 weight loss safe under a doctor's supervision?
Supervision is the part that makes it manageable. Dr. Bryant starts at the lowest dose and titrates upward gradually over several weeks, which is what keeps the common effects — nausea, indigestion, constipation, usually around a dose increase — from becoming a reason to quit. Labs are checked when clinically indicated and the plan is adjusted if anything changes.

The physician

Who you actually see, and what she treats.

Will I see Dr. Bryant herself, or a rotating provider?
You will see Dr. Keisha Bryant, MD — directly — for your primary-care visits. That is the whole point of an independent, neighborhood-owned practice: one board-certified internist who knows your history, your medications, your goals, and your family, and stays your doctor across every visit. For non-MD services like IV hydration or laser hair removal, you may see one of our nurse practitioners, Odeisha Maitland or Keisha Laporte.
Can Dr. Bryant manage my diabetes, blood pressure, or thyroid?
Yes — those are core internal medicine, and they are a major part of what Dr. Bryant does every day for the St Albans community. Type 2 diabetes, hypertension, high cholesterol, pre-diabetes, thyroid disease, and asthma are tracked with regular check-ins, lab reviews, and medication adjustments. Southeast Queens carries some of the highest rates of diabetes and high blood pressure in the city, and having one MD in your neighborhood who follows your numbers over time is exactly what these conditions need.
